STAR-STUDDED CAMIE AWARDS HONORING CHARACTER AND MORALITY IN FILMS AND TELEVISION SET FOR MAY 12 AT THE ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS & SCIENCES’ LEONARD H.GOLDENSON THEATRE

Once again honoring the virtues of exceptional character and morality in contemporary entertainment, the 2007 CAMIE Awards will be presented in a gala star-studded ceremony on Saturday, May 12 at 8 p.m. at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre, located in the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Plaza in North Hollywood. The emcees for the event are Leanza Cornett, Mark Steines and John Schneider.
Presented to entertaining and uplifting theatrical motion pictures and made-for-TV films that provide positive role models for building character, overcoming adversity and strengthening families, the CAMIE award winning theatrical films of 2007 are: Akeelah and the Bee (Lion’s Gate); Charlotte’s Web (Walden Media, Paramount Pictures); One Night With The King (Gener8Xion); Eight Below (Walt Disney Pictures); and The Nativity Story (New Line Cinema).
The CAMIE recipients in the Made-For-Television category are The Christmas Card (Hallmark Channel); Hidden Places (Hallmark Channel); Mother Teresa (FoxFaith); Candles On Bay Street (Hallmark Hall of Fame); and The Water Is Wide (Hallmark Hall of Fame). Individual solid bronze CAMIE statues will be presented to those principally responsible for creating each winning film, which may include producers, directors, writers and leading actors.
Confirmed attendees among the actors and actresses in lead and supporting roles in these films include Dakota Fanning (Charlotte’s Web); Shirley Jones (Hidden Places); John Newton (The Christmas Card); Olivia Hussey (Mother Teresa); Jeff Hephner (The Water Is Wide); Luke Goss (One Night With The King); J.R. Villarreal (Akeelah and the Bee); Sean Michael Afable (Akeelah and the Bee); and Tiny Lister (One Night With The King).
Among the scheduled presenters are former CAMIE winning actors and actresses Gabby Soleil, Erin Cottrell and Holliston Coleman. In addition, Marty Ingels will be presenting an award with his wife, Shirley Jones, and John Schneider will team with Las Vegas-based Silk & Satin Records recording artist Sandy Kastel to present the CAMIES for “The Christmas Card.”
CAMIE awards, Inc. was founded by concerned parents and others who recognized a need to help strengthen families and provide parents with a source where they could find wholesome entertainment. As they began working on the project, people from different faiths, cultures and backgrounds became involved. Since the award program’s inception, over 40 films have received CAMIES, including March of the Penguins, Miracle, Toy Story, and Chronicles of Narnia.

Sandy Kastel Held Press Conference For A Check Presentation To Children's Miracle Network At St. Rose Dominican Hospital With NHRA Division Champion David Rampy
Supporter of Children's Miracle Network (www.cmn.org ), Silk & Satin recording artist Sandy Kastel hosted a press conference at the St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Las Vegas, NV with NHRA three-time division champion David Rampy on Tuesday, April 10. Sponsoring Rampy for his upcoming events around the country this year, Kastel's image, logo and website address is featured on Rampy's race car and trailer which was on display at the hospital for the children to enjoy. Rampy is traveling with his race car because he is racing at the NHRA Summit Racing Nationals in Las Vegas April 12-15. A former Miss Nevada and Miss America talent award winner, Kastel has been working closely with this alliance of premier hospitals for children as Children's Miracle Network has been aligned with the long standing Miss America Pageant for 18 years and gave the children sampler CD's of her upcoming album This Time Around.
